The new season at Global Dance Centre is about to begin, and we’re excited to welcome you back to class starting Monday, September 1st.
This season is all about fun, dance, singing, and talent development.
Here’s a look at what’s coming up on our agenda:
OPEN WEEK – Monday, September 1st to Sunday, September 14th
During our Open Week you can get back into your dance rhythm, try out new classes, and meet our faculty teachers. It’s also the perfect moment to bring a friend along to one of our classes!
GDC Rotterdam
We’ve expanded the GDC Rotterdam schedule with two brand-new lesson days!
- Ages 7 to 17 can now join classes on Fridays and Saturdays.
- On Mondays, our new teacher Merel Wieberdink will teach hiphop/streetdance at the intermediate/advanced level.
- On Saturdays, you can enjoy newstyle classes with Valencia Hyman.
GDC Amsterdam
Dancehall is finally back in its purest form on the schedule!
- On Wednesdays, Isa Rosmulder will be teaching Dancehall to both youth and adults.
- Don’t miss the classes from Armin Jafari: after spending two months training in Los Angeles, he’s eager to bring his brand-new creations to the dance floor.
GDC Rotterdam
On Wednesdays, you’ll also meet a fresh face: Ismene de Jong, bringing a fusion of commercial and stage performance to her lessons. Perfect for kids at beginner level who want to learn all about dancing on stage.
In addition, Dalel Jansen officially joins the GDC Rotterdam teaching team this season.
After developing her passion for teaching over the past 1.5 years at GDC, she now leads her own open adult class on Wednesdays, and youth classes on Tuesdays.
GDC Amsterdam
Artist and winner of the TV show DanceSing, Sherefa Yorks, is a well-known name in the Dutch music industry.
Starting this season, she’ll be teaching singing lessons on Tuesdays for ages 7–11 and 12–17.
Always wanted to sing? Then this class is an absolute must!
GDC Amsterdam – Saturday Orientation Program
This program is designed for young dancers who want to explore multiple dance styles.
Students can follow consecutive lessons in ballet, jazz, and hiphop/streetdance.
A great way to broaden your dance experience! You can also follow the classes separate.
ALL STARS AUDITIONS + FREE WORKSHOP OPEN DAY
This season, aspiring dancers once again have the chance to audition for All Stars.

On Sunday January 26, 2025, the New Year's show of Global Dance Centre Rotterdam "FAMOUS" will take place. It promises to be a breathtaking show in which dance, music and dreams come together. The show will take place in Theater Zuidplein.
"FAMOUS"
A show in which dancers of Global Dance Centre x MUMEGO take the spotlight. With dance and music they show how hard you have to work to reach the top, a show in which victories and setbacks are palpable. Let yourself be embraced by the passion of entertainers, in a show in which everyone on stage is FAMOUS.
Own contribution
The own contribution for participation in this show is €15, - + optionally €5, - if you want to participate with a guest choreographer. The own contribution is used for, among other things, the production costs and the rental of the theater. Participation is possible for all members and all levels, by registering via the registration form at the counter. The final registration date and payment date are Monday October 28. Please note! Participation is only possible with an active subscription or valid ten-lesson card.

Rehearsals start in mid-October 2024.
In order to manage the preparations properly, we will appoint a coordinator who will manage all matters surrounding the show. TV - DANCE PROJECT WITH COACH SHAKER
Shaker can be seen tonight, Thursday February 1, as a coach in a brand new dance program. Project Dans can be seen every Thursday at 8:30 PM on NPO 1!
Thirty dance talents, ranging from passionate amateurs to emerging professionals, are challenged to prove themselves as the best all-round dancer in The Netherlands. They undergo intensive training in which they must master various dance styles, from ballet to hip hop and from African dance to jazz dance, until one winner remains in the final.

Global Dance Centre (GDC) and sports software company LogiFit are jointly developing VSU. A tool that allows creative and sports freelancers including: dance, music, sports instructors, choreographers and workshop organizers, to book spaces within Global Dance Centre for their own purposes.

GDC Rotterdam (youth lessons)
With a New Year's performance in a full Theater Zuidplein, the effect of the expansion in youth lessons was clearly visible. In the new dance season (September 2024), the weekend class will be added with lessons for children on Friday and Saturday.

The preliminary phase surprises with the further development of dance talent at Global Dance Centre. Every Friday they can take consecutive lessons in various dance styles. AUDITION - All Stars Performance Class
On Saturday February 24, 2024, young dance talent can audition again to train at the highest level. GDC Rotterdam x Afrodance
Afrodance choreographer Aron Norbert will be teaching at GDC Rotterdam. Aron's dances are guaranteed to go viral on TikTok, so join the fun!

You can’t miss Armin Jafari, dancer and assistant choreographer of artist Sigourney K, his weekly open class. His style can be described as everything you need to be on stage. Just returned from America, where he trained intensively with dancers from Chris Brown and Beyoncé, among others.

Saturday programming has never been so extensive. From 09:30 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening you can dance in various dance styles and at all levels.

In the Amsterdam and Rotterdam locations, we have focused on more classes for children.
New youth teachers such as: Jaimy Mendes, Rioney Pisarahu, Charnell Etnel, Luciano de Almeida Meijer, Andrew Berg, Romaysa Dejong and Dieudonnée Slot are preparing to develop talent in the new season, with pleasure in first place.
